I Always Find A Way To Achieve More By Doing Less

Who I Am

I'm a Product Owner based in Paris. I create efficient products for users.
I'm +3years of product managing and I'm fond of working in startups where I feel free to experiment and work with motivated and talented people.

1. Collect needs

As a representant of the needs and desires of the stakeholder community, it's important to understand what they NEEDS more than what they WANT.

2. Create user stories

All agile user stories include a written sentence and a series of conversations about the desired functionality. Then the user stories needs to be split into smaller user stories allowing the team to get value and high-quality feedback on frequent intervals.

3. Order Product Backlog

The product owner shows up at the sprint planning meeting with the prioritized agile product backlog and describes the top items to the team. Priorization must consider a few values such as the ROI given, the pain solved, risks etc.

4. Do sprint planning

The team determines which items they can complete during the coming sprint. Items from the product backlog are moved to the sprint backlog. In doing so, they expand each Scrum product backlog item into one or more sprint backlog tasks so they can more effectively share work during the sprint.

5. Do daily meeting

These 15 minutes sessions are designed to allow each team member to explain three status items to the rest of the team:
- what they accomplished;
- what they intend to accomplish; and
- what impediments they've found or expect to encounter.

6. Do sprint review

Within a feedback loop to always improve the content delivered and the process used, the sprint review includes Product Owner and stakeholders. It's the place to discuss about changes in market, technology, business value proposition and possibly correcting projet's course.

What I do

  • Create user stories

User stories, which are a description that captures what a user does or needs to do as part of his function. They must be granular enough to be achieved in a single sprint and help teams to understand what is required.

  • Manage the Product Backlog

Part of my responsabilities is to have vision of what I'm building and convey that vision to the scrum team. I do this in part through the product backlog, which is a prioritized features list (user stories) for the product.

  • Represent the customer

I continuously engage the customer and stakeholders to ensure the Team is building the right product and therefore delivering the ROI expected of it.

  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies

Each of these Scrum ceremonies is a chance for me to inspect and adapt. And as a result being present at these ceremonies is tantamount to success.

  • Inspect the product progress

Work that is either not complete or un-done needs to be re-prioritized or sequenced. I quickly recognize and understand change and to ensure the Product Team adapts to the change in landscape, be it competition, target market or other.

  • Communicate status externally

I'm the voice of the Team to the outside world and I ensure that all channels of communications are open and that projects have the right amount of support required to succeed.
